The TEA is dedicated to the versatility of the Thoroughbred Horse. We, as a group feel that the Thoroughbred is good for a lot more than just racing. Our class lists offers classes in English, Dressage, Jumping, Driving, Western Pleasure, and Reining or Western pattern. Many of our members also show in Open Shows and some breed shows that have Thoroughbred classes.
In our breed shows, the horse must be full thoroughbred or half thoroughbred with one direct parent being full thoroughbred. Papers are required, or in the case of full thoroughbreds, a lip tattoo is acceptable.
We put on three shows a year. The first show of the season is our Schooling Show and is held in mid to late March. The Schooling show is open to any breed and it features many beginner classes. It is a good show to start a greenie, or to convince an old hand that the season is here again.
The Spring Show is single judged and is for Thoroughbreds and 1/2 Thoroughbreds only. The date for the show is mid May. The Fall Show is also a breed show, double judged and will be held mid to late September. All our shows are at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby, Oregon.
You can download the membership application, which shows almost all of the year-end award possibilities. We also have year-end awards for Dressage, Eventing, Combined Driving, etc.
Our club consists of a range of members that are brand new to horses or showing, up to very experienced horse persons. We are an open and friendly group that gathers to talk about, show, and generally enjoy our Thoroughbreds.
Thank you for your interest in the TEA. If you have any further questions, you can contact any of the Board Members.
The members and I look forward to hearing from you and sincerely hope you join our group.
